About

Karly is a muralist and interdisciplinary visual artist in Portland, Oregon.

She specializes in bright, colorful, and abstract work blended with realistic rendering. Her process is intuitive with fervid movement and action, with the goal to transform a space with a sweeping interplay of colors.

"Karly Does Art Stuff" was created out of a desire to make art without restriction and to reach as wide-ranging an audience as possible. In addition to murals, she offers pet portrait commissions and original abstract art.

Her abstract/mixed media work is rooted in painting with sculptural qualities and utilizing recycled materials. Her process, similar to that of her murals, is typically an exploration of balancing intentionality within chaos. She strives to evoke an overwhelming sensation with frenetic energy, but married with small pockets of comfortable moments and a celebration of this duality. With every piece, her goal is to depict life's, "secret colors.

Karly received Bachelor's degrees in Art Practices and Creative Writing from Portland State University and has worked with companies such as Nike World Headquarters, and Costco Wholesale. She has exhibited work in South Korea, New York, and various states across the U.S.
